My favorite line: "I couldn’t hear what they were saying to one another but I so cherish hearing them interacting, laughing together in a moment where there was for once, no basketball game to race off to, no volleyball practice to hustle out the door to, no test to study for and no pressure in sight." Savor it all. At the last minute, our kids invited us to the beach this weekend — here in Oregon, that doesn't mean bathing suits and basking in 80-degree temperatures, but still! — and we'd both had busy weeks. But we didn't hesitate to say yes. And, yeah, we won't be the first ones to end the hugs!
